Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the AILET 2018 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The prescribed eligibility criteria prescribed by the NLU, Delhi are as follows: For B.A.LL.B (Hons) Aspirants should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with obtaining at least of 50% aggregate marks. The AILET 2018 age limit for candidates should not be exceeding 21 years as on 1 July, 2018 (23 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category) For LL.M. programme & PG Diploma programme Candidate must have passed LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with obtaining minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for candidates from SC, ST or PwD category) For Ph.D programme Applicants should have a LL.M. Degree or equivalent with scoring minimum 55% marks (50% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category). Candidates pursuing in qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of AILET 2018 is listed below: The paper will comprise 150 questions of one mark each. The duration of exam will be 90 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes). The exam conducted for BA LLB admission will include questions from the subjects like General Knowledge, Reasoning and Mathematics, Legal Aptitude whereas exam organized for LLM admissions will covers the topics from LL.B subjects such as Business Laws, Law of Torts and Family Laws.

Selection Procedure


Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the AILET merit list. After the declaration of the merit list, candidates are shortlisted for an offline counselling process. With the merit-cum-rank list of AILET 2017, candidates can check their scores and AIR secured in the test. NLU-D will then be conducting the counselling process for admissions to the undergraduate law programmes for the academic session 2017-21. AILET 2017 Counselling will be scheduled from the first week of June.
